Ross Valory is a founding member and longtime bassist of the legendary rock band Journey. He co-founded the band in 1973 alongside Neal Schon and was an integral part of their rise to becoming one of the best-selling bands in American history, contributing to classic albums like 'Escape' and 'Frontiers.' Valory was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Journey in 2017. Prior to and between his two tenures with Journey (1973–1985 and 1995–2020), he played with The Storm, Todd Rundgren, the Sy Klopps Blues Band, and the Steve Miller Band. In 2024, Valory released his debut solo album, 'All of the Above.' In his OnTheGig interview at the Billboard Touring Awards, Valory reflected on his decades-long career and offered practical advice for musicians at all stages, emphasizing musicianship, professionalism, and adaptability.
