Jovan J. Dawkins is a drummer, producer, musical director, and production supervisor from Tacoma, Washington. He began playing drums in church at the age of one and two, inspired by the musicians around him, and has been playing professionally for over two decades. Dawkins serves as the music director and drummer for Grammy award-winning artist Sir Mix-A-Lot, and also plays for Jimmy Fisher and Contagious Praise. On the production side, he is signed to AMP Music Group (Warner Bros Music/Zomba Music Publishing) as a score and music producer, with credits that include work associated with Britney Spears, R. Kelly, Justin Timberlake, and Linkin Park, as well as score music for BET, MTV, and VH1. Dawkins is also the founder of Heritage Music Group and a member of the production team The Co-Captains.
