Journey To The Big Stage: The Good Hurt Plays The Crocodile In Seattle

It's a Saturday night at The Crocodile, a legendary music venue in Seattle, WA, which has hosted acts like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Death Cab for Cutie, The Presidents of the United States of America and many more. Headlining for the first time, The Good Hurt prepares to do what they do best… kill! And kill they did. I had the pleasure of shooting video that night for the band and before the show, we had a brief conversation about their journey to the point of headlining a packed club and beyond and their advice to other emerging bands.
The Good Hurt shares their experiences navigating the local music scene, from their early days playing small venues to finally headlining at one of Seattle's most iconic clubs. They discuss the challenges of building a fan base, creating memorable live performances, and standing out in a city known for its rich musical history.
Band members offer practical advice for other emerging artists on booking shows, promoting events, and creating a professional stage presence. They emphasize the importance of networking with other local bands and venue staff to create opportunities for better gigs.
The interview also covers their approach to songwriting, recording, and how they've developed their distinctive sound. For musicians looking to make the leap from playing support slots to headlining shows, this conversation provides valuable insights from a band that has successfully made that transition.
